I never actually thought I would get the chance to professionally race the boats that I would read about in magazines as a kid, but that's exactly what happened. In 2013 I was approached by round-the-world solo sailor Chris Stanmore Major to help build Spartan Ocean Racing as a company and provide on-the-water coaching and team-building while racing Volvo60 ocean yachts across both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. For three years I raced all over the world and gained invaluable knowledge about how to pull a team together and harness everyone's individual skills and competencies. It was a privilege to experience and I will forever be grateful for it and the things I learned along the way about team building. It's really all about inspiring people to explore the things they are really competent in and excited by. An engaged team is a competent team.
